Cedar View Choir

The Cedar View Chorus (CVC) is an extracurricular honors group of 4th and 5th graders who meet twice a week after school. During rehearsals led by Mr. Shutes, the students enjoy learning current popular songs as well as some of the classics and folk songs. Many of the songs the students perform are in 2 part harmony, a rewarding challenge which many students this age do not have the opportunity to partake in. The CVC performs multiple community performances as well being invited to perform the National Anthem for the Grand Rapids Griffins every year. The full talents of the CVC are demonstrated at the spring and winter concerts with numerous soloists, story songs, and are always delivered with a face full of smiles, a heart full of pride, and incredible voices at such a young age. Many of the students in the CVC were members of our younger group, the Beach Chorus, which is comprised of 2nd and 3rd graders. Students who are part of the CVC have a great experience and are beyond prepared for the experiences they will have in the secondary vocal and instrumental programs in Cedar Springs. If your child is interested in joining the CVC or has a younger sibling wishing to be part of the Beach Chorus, please contact Mr. Shutes at matt.shutes@csreshawks.org
Thank you for taking the time to check out this amazing group of kiddos and we look forward to singing for you soon!
