March is Reading Month

Cedar View is taking part in March is Reading month with a ton of fun activities! We had an opening ceremony to get excited about kicking off March is Reading month. Mrs. VanDam won the teacher's game of lightening- must be her pregnant super strength! Students are able to earn basketballs for every 20 minutes they read outside of their scheduled independent reading time. Those basketballs are collected each Friday and classroom totals are put on thermometers on the bulletin board outside of the office. Mrs. Franz draws 10 basketballs at the end of the day on Friday for students to earn prizes. The prizes consist of books, posters, pencils, bookmarks, and the chance to play basketball against the teachers at the closing ceremonies! Cedar View is excited to read this month and has read over 100,000 minutes so far!
